Dr. Scot Bradley Glasberg was born and raised in New York City. He attended preparatory high school in Manhattan and graduated cum laude from Columbia University. Dr. Glasberg graduated from the New York University School of Medicine with honors. He completed his General Surgery training at the University of Connecticut and also a research fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery of the New University Medical Center. He concluded his training in the Plastic Surgery Residency of the State University of New York Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Glasberg is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is the former Director of Plastic Surgical Education at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center, where he supervised the training of future young plastic surgeons. He currently holds the title of Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Glasberg holds numerous positions within national, regional and local medical and specialty societies. He is a Past President on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has also served as its Vice President of Finance/Treasurer and Vice President of Advocacy and Health Policy.
Dr. Glasberg also currently serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons, as Past President on the Executive Committee of the New York County Medical Society and as a Past President of the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Glasberg is a Past President of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons and currently serves on its Board of Trustees. He has also represented the American Medical Association in official capacities. Dr. Glasberg travels to Washington, D.C. and Albany several times each year to speak about many healthcare and medicolegal issues. He has testified before Congressional committees and before panels of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Dr. Glasberg has appeared numerous times in the news and media. He has been featured on shows such as the CBS Early show, the Today show (NBC), Good Morning America (ABC), the Paula Zahn show (CNN) and the Morning show (WB). He has also appeared on the national and local newscasts of NBC, CBS, ABC, WB and CNN.
Dr. Glasberg continually involves himself in research activities and has won multiple awards. He was the recipient of the Resident and Fellows Award of the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons and won a clinical prize for his work presented at the New York Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Earlier in his training, he won an award for the best presentation at the annual meeting of the New York Society of Cleft Palate / Craniofacial Centers as well as a prize for best paper at the annual meeting of the Connecticut Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. His research has been published in numerous peer review journals and has included new techniques in breast reconstruction and the treatment and prevention of keloid and hypertrophic wound healing as well as the assessment of pediatric craniofacial deformities.
Dr. Glasberg is considered an expert in his field and is listed in the current editions of Marquis’ Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World as well as the latest edition of Outstanding Young Americans. He is on the attending staff of the prestigious Lenox Hill and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospitals as well as several other area hospitals.
Dr. Glasberg performs procedures throughout the entire spectrum of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. He has particular interests in all aspects of breast reconstruction, cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, wound healing and regenerative medicine.
