The laser works by light bouncing back and forth in between mirrors and lenses, increasing the strength with each cycle. When the beam of light is at the desired power it is released.
The laser beam causes a carefully controlled burn that can be used for the following procedures.
Age spots are flat brown spots on the skin that have darkened in color after exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light. They are commonly seen in people over the age of 40 on areas of the skin that are frequently exposed to sunlight, such as the hands, shoulders, forearms, face and forehead. Although usually harmless, many people are bothered by the appearance of these spots and seek treatment to have them removed.
Laser treatment is the most effective treatment for age spots and other pigment irregularities on the skin, as it produces significant improvement in the appearance of the skin through a safe, minimally invasive procedure. During this procedure, focused beams of laser energy are delivered to the targeted area to remove the affected layers of skin and leave the skin looking younger and clearer.
After treatment, patients may experience redness and swelling for a few days, although these side effects usually go away on their own. Patients can return to work and other normal activities as soon as they choose.

Laser hair removal is a popular cosmetic procedure used to remove unwanted body hair with intense pulsed laser energy. This minimally invasive procedure removes hair through a series of treatments, without damaging the surrounding skin and tissue. Through this safe, painless and convenient procedure, patients can enjoy long-term hair removal from nearly any area of their body.
The ideal candidate for laser hair removal is someone seeking a simple, long-term solution to excessive hair growth. Other patients with normal hair growth, who are tired of constantly shaving, waxing or plucking their unwanted hair may benefit from this procedure as well. This procedure is usually most effective on patients with dark hair and light skin, although most patients are able to achieve successful results.
Laser hair removal is most commonly performed on the face, upper lip, neck, chest, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line and legs, although it can be performed on virtually any area with excess hair growth. Multiple treatments will be needed in order to achieve optimal results, since hair grows in cycles and one treatment will not be able to destroy all hair follicles. The length and quantity of the treatment sessions depends on the location of the hair and the patient’s individual response to treatment.

Laser skin resurfacing is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other skin irregularities such as brown spots, acne, precancerous growths and more. It offers patients many advantages over traditional resurfacing procedures such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion, as it practically eliminates side effects such as discomfort, bleeding and bruising.
Although laser skin resurfacing uses the same basic principles of other procedures, and treats aging, damaged skin by removing the top layer of the skin, it does so through a noninvasive procedure that uses laser energy to remove as much skin as needed without affecting healthy tissue. This allows for a much deeper removal through more precise and less invasive techniques.
This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. The entire procedure can take from 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the size and condition of the treated area. Some patients may require more than one procedure to achieve their desired results. There may be mild swelling and discomfort for a few days after treatments, but these side effects usually go away on their own, and patients can quickly return to work and other normal activities.

Many people who decide to get a tattoo end up regretting their decision over time and wish to have their tattoo removed. Fortunately, there are advanced laser treatments available that can safely and effectively remove tattoos from the skin. Highly precise lasers can lighten or remove a tattoo by focusing or pulsing light on the ink particles, which then covert the energy to heat and break up into tiny pieces, which are absorbed harmlessly by the body. This can be accomplished without damaging the surrounding tissue.
Laser tattoo removal is performed over a series of treatments, usually spaced eight weeks apart. The results of this procedure can generally be seen within a few weeks, although larger and darker tattoos may require more treatments than smaller, lighter ones. In some patients, skin may appear paler than the skin around it, but this is usually temporary. Redness and swelling are also common immediately after treatment, although there are no restrictions on activity after treatment. Patients can return to work or school immediately after.

Spider and varicose veins are embarrassing and often painful conditions that affect millions of men and women as a result of heredity, pregnancy and hormones. While there are several conventional treatments for these conditions that have been around for years, they are often painful and cause unwanted side effects. Laser vein removal offers patients more precise results through a minimally invasive procedure that heats the vein and causes it to close, rather than removing it surgically.
There are several different laser procedures available for treating spider and varicose veins. Simple laser treatment treats veins that are just under the surface of the skin, while endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) is an advanced procedure that involves passing a laser fiber through a catheter directly into the vein. This procedure is performed using ultrasound guidance to ensure accurate delivery of the laser energy.
Laser vein treatment is performed under local anesthesia and takes less than 20 minutes for each treatment session. Most patients notice effective results from this procedure after two to six treatment sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Larger veins may require additional treatments.
